Humility is the result of gratitude

Only to develop the wisdom

To know--

That fate allowed you to “earn” them

To realize that all your positive traits

Are vanity until they benefit others.

And that kindness is the crown worn by humility.

To realize that you are finite in the face of infinite things

And that in being finite, each of your minutes has meaning.

The secret is that fate humbles

Those who lack humility

And it exalts the humble.
