Repentance.

Is a turning away

Taking a different path forward.

But let’s apply it to our journey.

It is not self-condemnation

Or wallowing in guilt

But the realization and joy that you are getting better

It doesn’t erase your past

But gives it meaning as a lesson for the future

It doesn’t remove your past

It unties your being bound to it.

It easy to ask for a God to forgive

But for your peace,

You need to untie that knot

That tethers you.

Untie it and soar.

Rejoice!

You are better than your past.
