There Is No Chance Encounter.

There is no chance encounter.

Credit fate, kismet, nature, God, the alignment of the stars, whatever you choose,

The chance encounter does not happen.

You can think of encounters that you handled badly or that seemed pointless.

You can think of encounters where you fell in love or had your heart broken.

You can think of encounters that brought you good fortune

Or broke you down to weep.

But past encounters are past,

And today’s encounters could take you almost anywhere in your imagination.

Tomorrow’s encounters could redirect your entire journey.

But looking backward, before you close your eyes,

You see that these were not chance encounters

But a path that brought you to where you are today.

You may see that the path actually had a map that you could never see while you were on the path,

You wandered in the wilderness on the way to an unpromised land.

That led you to some unknown place that is your “now.”

You will mine some gold is your sense of meaning.

The paths you were on were but arteries

Bearing the lifeblood of your becoming,

And leading to the heart of whom you are.

A stream is bearing you on the way to a vast ocean.

And that there were no chance ecnounters.
